About Little Bear Lane
The Schatz family has lived and travelled abroad for years and landed on settling in Seward, Alaska because of our love of mountains & water. But what really sealed the deal was finding this incredible property; Little Bear Lane. Renewably powered was a MUST… the fact that is so gorgeous is a major plus!
Situated on 12-acres over looking Resurrection Bay, dandelions and salmon berries line the drive, a quaint pond welcome you to the hidden gem.
Our sweet cottage, Little Bear Den, neighbors the workshop. The main house boasts the timber-frame Grand Bear Den. Below (with a private entrance) is our personal home. The property is yours to enjoy, help yourself to self-snip salad in the garden (harvest just leaves; not the head) and don’t forget to pencil yourself in for some sauna time.
We are so excited to share our slice of Alaska with you!
Niko
Adventurer, pilot, father, over all good guy. It was his love for Alaska that called them back; his first flying job was as a bush pilot in Nome, Alaska.
Not only adventurous in spirit, with his technical alacrity he single handedly upgraded the solar system AND increased the water capacity by installing and designing a water exchange system with the current tank.
If you want to geek out on all things renewably powered, japanese (& really any) culture, food & drink AND aviation, he’s your man.
Meg
Artist, mother, gardener, entrepreneur. Arizona-born & raised Meg never imagined living in Alaska… she can’t resist following her man around the world and has an adventurous spirit too.
With design experience, love of languages, background in sales & customer service and a passion for gardening; her bouquet of skills brings a brightness to Little Bear Lane. With a heart for health and sustainability, her passion is to learn to grow, store and prepare food and inspire others to do the same!
